History Oleg Deripaska

Oleg Deripaska
Oleg Vladimirovich Deripaska is a Russian billionaire and a member of the Board and President of UC Rusal, a Russian company in the aluminum industry.

Deripaska was born on January 2, 1968 in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, but he grew up in Krasnodar Krai. He graduated with honors in physics from Moscow State University in 1993 and in 1996 he earned a degree in economics at the Plekhanov Russian Economics Academy. He was general manager Sayanogorsk Smelter (1994-1997) and served as chairman of the Group's industrial investment Sibirsky Aluminum (1997-2001), which later became a core of Basic Element Investment Company.

Deripaska, 42 years old, began as a metals trader and made much of his fortune at age 25 as a result of having survived the "aluminum wars" that erupted in the early 1990. Today is owner of Basic Elements, an investment company based in the robbery established in 1997 with assets in Russia and abroad. He has a house for 20 million pounds in London's Belgravia and speaks fluent English. He is married to Polina Yyumasheva, daughter of former senior official of Boris Yeltsin.
