Walt was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5, 1901 his parents were Elias and Flora Disney. When Walt was four, the family moved to Marceline, Missouri where Walt lived most of his childhood.
As a child, Walt enjoyed drawing, and when I was seven years old, selling sketches to neighbors. His uncle was a train engineer, and lived near the train station and Walt worked a summer at the news stand, popcorn and soft drinks to passengers.
In 1918, when war broke out, Walt tried to enlist in the Army, because of their age, the Army refused his enlistment. He and a friend joined the Red Cross, and were sent to France, where Walt drove an ambulance of the Red Cross in support of allied troops. Walt decorated his ambulance with cartoon did.

moved to Kansas City and partnered with another designer, Ubbe Iwerks, to form a company called "Iwerks-Disney Commercial Artists". The business has stagnated and the two went to work for the Kansas City Film. Once there, he met another interested in animation, and partnered with Fred Harman, to start his animation company.
The two produced short stories, which they called Laugh-O-grams. They got a contract with the local theater owned by Frank Newman where he showed his cartoons, which soon became a huge success in the Kansas City area. Soon, Walt would be able to afford a studio and hire entertainers and staff to produce more cartoons. Unable to successfully manage their new company and broke, so Walt decided to go to Hollywood, California, to establish a studio there.
He teamed with his brother Roy, and began a new study in the garage of Roy. He sent his animated comedies Alice Margaret Winkler, a distributor in New York. She replied asking for more. From 1925 to 1927, the Alice Comedies was a great success.
In 1932, "Flowers and Trees' first animated color Walt won the first Academy Award for his studies. In 1937, he published The Old Mill, the first issue of a short and used the technique of multi-plane camera. On December 21, 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, considered one of the greatest feats in the film industry, which premiered at the Carthay Theater in Los Angeles. The film cost about $ 1.5 million to produce a staggering of the time.
In the next five years, Walt Disney Studios released another classic cartoons like Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo and Bambi.
At the same time, Walt had an idea in the back of his mind to someday open an amusement park for families. A place where adults and children to enjoy a pleasant and clean. In 1955, this dream came true, as Disneyland Park opened in 1955 in Anaheim, California. Walt also became a pioneer of television from television production in 1954 and was among the first to present full-color programming with his Wonderful World of Color in 1961.
Walt had another dream, to create the perfect city; He called EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, but, unfortunately, Walt never lived to see fulfilled this dream, December 15, 1966 at 9:30 am, ten days after his birthday sixty-five, Walt died of complications from lung cancer. He was cremated on December 17, 1966 and his ashes reside at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
His brother continued the project of Florida, giving the name of Walt Disney World, which opened its doors in October 1971.
