James H. Clark History

James H. Clark, famous for founding Netscape, started his dream of employer many years earlier. After leaving school, Jim spent 4 years in the Navy. He began taking night classes at Tulane and earned enough credits to be accepted into the University of New Orleans and earned a Masters in Physics. He continued his training in 1974 by obtaining a doctorate in computer science from the University of Utah. In 1979, Clark accepted a position at Stanford University as associate professor of electrical engineering.



Formed Silicon Graphics, Inc. in 1982 along with six graduate students from Stanford and Abbey Silverstone. From terminals that act as a workstation graphics. Clark remained an active businessman. In 1999, Clark launched myCFO - a company to help wealthy individuals manage their fortunes. He sold the company to a third of its initial investment to Harris Bank in late 2002.

Also in 1999, Clark became original investors in Shutterfly and Chairman of the Board. The company lets people share photos, print and save.
